The state-run Museo della pesca del lago Trasimeno traces the history of Lake Trasimene in relation to the lake’s long-standing fishing tradition.
The various sections into which the museum is divided display the old fashioned equipment used by fishermen. The collection is rounded off by a large collection of photographs and audiovisual material
The museum also organises exhibitions focussing on what life was like on Lake Trasimene, where for centuries fishing was the local population’s primary activity.
Opening hours:
November, December, January: Saturdays and Sundays 10.30am-1pm and 2.30-5.30pm
February, March, October: From Thursday to Sunday 10.30am-12.30pm and 2.30-5.30pm
April, May, June, September: 10am-12.30pm and 3-6pm. Closed Mondays
July and August: every day 10.30am-1pm and 4-7pm
From the last week in July until the first Sunday in August the museum opens also from 9-11pm.
