Magione - La Valle Nature Reserve

The Oasi Naturalistica La Valle, run by Cooperativa L'Alzavola, is certainly an interesting way for tourists to get to know the beautiful spots of Lake Trasimene.

The reserve offers a number of educational services to tourists/U>:
- guided tours of the reserve and Lake Trasimene;
- guided tours on an electrically powered boat;
- demonstration of how birds are ringed;
- class meetings;
- nature experience lab

In spring and autumn many birds rest here to replenish their energy reserves before continuing their migration north or south.
During the STRONG>winter the lake supports
54,000 coots, 800 great grebes, 6,000 ducks of which 3,500 are widgeons, 800 mallards and 1,000 pochards.
Of the over 160 bird species present on Lake Trasimene, 150 nest here.

The following facilities are available at the centre:
- a Visitors Centre with anEquipped Classroom, an exhibition on historical and natural features of the area, and the Centro di Documentazione del Trasimeno;
- noleggio gratuito binoculars;
- a bird ringing station;
- an electrically powered boat;
- Wooden walkway and Watchers;

OPENING HOURS:
FROM JUNE TO SEPTEMBER
every day - 9am/1pm - 4/8pm

FROM OCTOBER TO MAY
every day except Mondays - 9/1pm - 3/6pm

COSTS:
Individual visit: € 2.10
Guided tour: € 4.15 [at least 6 people, booking necessary]
Guided tour with electric boat: € 5.20 (children under 6, € 2.10). Boat tours take place only weather conditions permitting. All year round on Sunday afternoons. Booking necessary for all the other days of the week [at least 5 people].
