Events - The Carnival of Sant’Eraclio Foligno, loc. S. Eraclio (Pg). From its earliest recorded beginning, way back in 1542 when it was little more than a procession of carts decorated with flowers and branches, the Sant’Eraclio Carnival has evolved through the ages and is now made up of six allegorical floats progressing to the sound of music and accompanied by a host of masked paraders, street performers and other festive elements. This year’s edition of the Carnival, which in its modern form has reached its 49th year, will take place on January 31st February 7th and 14th from 3pm. Entrance is € 5, free for those wearing a mask and for children. Throughout the Carnival period in Sant’Eraclio the “L’osteria del Carnevale” will be open, serving seasonal specialities.
