Sangemini Conference Centre
Via Tiberina, 2 - Loc. Fonte - 05029 San Gemini (TR) Italy The Sangemini Conference Centre occupies a series of disused industrial buildings that have been carefully restored and transformed into a contemporary space fully equipped for modern conference purposes whilst maintaining the original flavour of this fine example of local industrial archaeology. The conference centre is within the park of the Sangemini water springs and is part of the buildings erected in 1888 by the owner of the water springs Carlo Violati. The vault of the conference centre, which opened in 2000, was designed by the legendary Pier Luigi Nervi, while the design for the refurbishment as a conference centre for use today is by the Nobel Prize-winning architect Albert B. Sabin. The entrance hallway of the conference centre contains prints and photographs from the beginning of the 20th century showing workers selecting and labelling bottles of Sangemini water by hand, the carts that were used for transporting it and a number of other interesting and informative visual material regarding its history. The conference centre's main hall can seat 400 and is equipped with an amplification system, multi-media support, simultaneous translation cabins, an adaptable tunnel space with a series of intercommunicating rooms, exhibition spaces, a fully equipped press room, a cloakroom and a reception for information. A permanent display featuring the history of water bottling lends a contemporary feel to the entire conference area. This modern structure can cater for top-level conferences of all kinds and, immersed in the lush greenery of the Sangemini springs park, is ideal for coffee breaks and working lunches even in the open air. Just 100 kilometres from Rome, the Sangemini conference centre offers guests all the advantages of a quiet, peaceful country environment. The centre also offers sleeping accommodation and catering facilities, as well as a number of sporting and recreational activities. An ideal venue conveniently close to Rome where guests can take a break and be pampered in a secluded environment. . . |
