Il Torale is an old peasant hamlet that dates back to the mid 1600s. Up until 1950 it was lived in by the families of farmers in the service of the Marchesi Ranieri di Sorbello.

After 43 years of complete abandonment, in 1993 the hamlet was meticulously restored and listed as a protected structure by Italy’s culture ministry.

As well as the houses themselves, the hamlet’s outbuildings such as former barns, cellars, tobacco barns, pigsties and stables, have been converted into a total of 17 apartments of various sizes, able to sleep between 3 and 8 people. Each apartment is equipped with every modern comfort and furnished in simple Umbrian country style.

4. Briscola, able to sleep 2 + 1 – two rooms - 45 square metres, ground floor, entrance from the village square.
5. Frangivento, able to sleep 4 + 1 – three rooms - 72 square metres, first floor, entrance from exterior steps down to the village square.
6. Nerella, able to sleep 6 + 2 – four rooms - 83 square metres, first floor, entrance from exterior steps down to the village square.
7. Cerasuola, able to sleep 3 + 2 – three rooms - 83 square metres, first floor, entrance from a north-facing exterior set of stairs up from the parking lot and rose garden.
8. Morellino, able to sleep 4 + 2 – three rooms - 83 square metres, first floor, entrance from a north-facing exterior set of stairs up from the parking lot and rose garden.
9. Biancolilla, able to sleep 4 – three rooms - 64 square metres, second floor, entrance from a north-facing exterior set of stairs up from the parking lot and rose garden.
10. Dolce Agogia, able to sleep 4 + 2 – three rooms - 86 square metres, second floor, entrance from a north-facing exterior set of stairs up from the parking lot and rose garden.
11. Frantoio, able to sleep 4 + 2 – three rooms - 64 square metres, ground floor, entrance from the lawn on the swimming pool side, near the former village oven.
12. Leccino, able to sleep 4 + 2 – three rooms - 89 square metres, ground floor, entrance from the village square.
13. Maurino, able to sleep 2 – single room - 28 square metres, entrance from the lawn on the swimming pool side.
14. Moraiolo, able to sleep 4 + 2 – three rooms - 72 square metres, first floor, entrance from an interior staircase on the swimming pool side.
15. Pendolino, able to sleep 4 + 2 – three rooms - 68 square metres, first floor, entrance from exterior steps down to the village square.
16. Pignola, able to sleep 2 + 1 (in raised floor section) – single room with separate kitchenette - 28 square metres, first floor, entrance from interior staircase on the village square.
17. Rosciola, able to sleep 2 + 2 – two rooms – 53 square metres. This is an independent house surrounded by the village lawn, entrance from the ground floor.

The idyllic atmosphere of Borgo Torale is given added value also by a beautiful small church built in 1768, where there is still a working bell that dates back to 1300.
Guests have free use of the village swimming pool (open from mid-May through to the end of September), which is magnificently located with views towards Lake Trasimene and its islands – ideal for enjoying spectacular sunsets.
